Community Food Assessments can organize community planning around shared food system priorities, identify existing capacity and assets, and devise strategies for addressing unmet needs. This facilitated workshop will draw on the knowledge and experience of community food practitioners from urban, rural and remote contexts in order to identify some of the key components of conducting Community Food Assessments (CFAs). Participants will engage with questions such as "what are the strengths and limitations of CFAs?", "how do we ensure that our process fosters equitable participation?", "How do we foster community ownership?"
